Stay Safe while Browsing Internet

In both our personal and professional lives, we use the internet. We use websites to look for new gadgets, research subjects, and keep up with the latest news.

The Internet has become an integral part of our daily lives. Potential attackers aren't just looking for the big fish in the markets. They are indiscriminate, casting a large net in order to benefit from even small bits of information.

Please bear in mind that even though you strictly follow the steps outlined below, potential attackers will still be able to gain access to your device. As a result, I highly advise using a good antivirus/malware program with real-time security to stop and/or delete any malicious software before it can cause havoc.

REMEMBER: The secret to secure Internet browsing is to combine strong security with proper knowledge.

SAFE WEBSITES STARTING WITH HTTPS:// ARE THE BEST TO USE

Internet addresses that begin with https:// and have a padlock on the web browser send and receive data over the Internet in the same way that http:// does, but with encryption. Encryption protects the data from prying eyes. This is particularly important when sending money or exchanging personal information over the Internet, and it is the first step toward safe surfing.

DO NOT ENTER INFORMATION OR CLICK ON POP UPS IN A WEBSITE

Pop-up ads can contain malware, which can be downloaded onto a device if someone clicks on it to add details or even close it. This can happen even if the individual is completely unaware of it. Instead, mouse over the task bar to locate the newly opened page and right-click to close it. Your device is also protected by keeping your antivirus, anti-malware, and operating system up to date. Additionally, upgrading the web browser's security settings is beneficial. To keep their users secure, many browsers already block pop-ups.

DIRECTLY ENTER WEB ADDRESS OR LINK TO YOUR BROWSER

Instead of clicking a link in an email, hover over the link to see if it appears to be correct before clicking it. If it appears to be appropriate, instead of linking to a website, look for the connection on your own. Dangerous websites will look just like legitimate ones. Before you click on a connection from a trusted source, hover over it to see where it will take you. After you've read the link and determined that it's correct, you can press it.

REGULARLY CHECK YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNTS FOR SUSPICIOUS TRANSACTIONS

Even if you browse the Internet carefully, spyware downloaded from the internet will steal information when it is entered on secure websites.

Spyware works like a CCTV, allowing another person to see anything that happens on the infected device. The owner is often unaware that the device is infected with malware and tries to enter personal information into protected banking websites.

Another individual may then use this information to gain access to information or even bank accounts. Users can avoid further account abuse by periodically checking their accounts for suspicious transactions.

READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN DETAIL

Each website, app, and online program has its own set of rules and regulations. Unfortunately, agreeing to these without knowing, might enable spyware to install on your device. The information that is applied to other sites may then be monitored by spyware.

IMMEDIATELY APPLY UPDATES

Updates are regularly released by companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Apple, as well as other software developers. Patches and simple fixes for new viruses that have infected systems are included in these updates. When browsing the Internet, protect the user by upgrading the operating system, security updates, and antivirus software to avoid the latest threats from viruses, malware, and spyware.

It is better to prevent a bad thing from happening in the first place rather than having to deal with the consequences later.
