Windows 10 File Explorer - Change Default Folder in Quick Access

When you click the File Explorer shortcut on your Windows 10 taskbar, it opens in Quick Access mode by default. It's easy to change the settings in File Explorer to open to "This PC" instead. Here's how to do it.

Open File Explorer

In Menu click File, Change Folder and search options

In "Folder Options," click the "General" tab, then click
the menu beside "Open File Explorer to."

In the Menu that appears, select "This PC"

Interla drives, external storage devices, network locations, and commonly used files such as Downloads, Desktop, and Documents Folders will all be displayed.

When you click OK, the "Folder Options" window will close. The next time you open File Explorer, the first place that appears will be "This PC."

You can also choose to "Pin to Quick Access" or "Show frequently used folders in Quick Access" by dragging and dropping them to Quick Access.

To remove a folder from Quick Access, right-click it and choose "Unpin from Quick Access,". You can also choose "Show recently used files in Quick Access" to prevent recent files from being shown in the main Quick Access view.

REMEMBER: When you disable displaying commonly used files, they disappear from the navigation pane's Quick Access menu as well as the key Quick Access view that appears when you open File Explorer or press the Quick Access folder.

Hopefully this will help......
