Every modern browser makes it simple to digitally "print" an email to a PDF file if you'd like to save it for offline use. On Windows and Mac, here's how to do it.


Save Email as PDF on Windows
You can print your emails to PDF using Chrome, Edge, or Firefox since almost all web browsers support printing. To begin, open your preferred browser and go to the Gmail website. Then, if you haven't already, log in to your Gmail account.

Open the email you want to file as a PDF next. Select "Print" from the three-dots menu in the top-right corner of your email browser.

In the “Print” window, click the drop-down menu next to “Destination” and select “Save as PDF.” If necessary, configure other options like layout and margins.

When you're done, click "Save" to begin creating your PDF.

After a brief moment, the save dialog window will appear. In this window, type the name of your PDF in the "File Name" area, select a folder to save it in, and click "Save."

Your email will now be stored in the folder you mentioned as a PDF file. It's really easy. This allows you to digitally "print" as many emails as you want.


Save Email as a PDF on Mac
You can use your browser's built-in PDF printer to save emails in the Gmail web client as PDF files on your Mac, just like you can on Windows. To do so, go to your preferred web browser and log in to your Gmail account.

After that, choose the email you want to save as a PDF. Select "Print" from the three-dots menu in the top-right corner of the email window.

Select “Save as PDF” from the “Destination” drop-down screen on the print window. If you'd like, you can tweak the other settings. Then press "Save."

If you're using Safari, pick "Save as PDF" from the "PDF" drop-down menu at the bottom of the print window.

Fill in a file name for your PDF in the box at the top of the save window that appears. Then, select a location for your PDF and click "Save."

That's what there is to it! The PDF you saved will be saved to the location you mentioned. You can repeat this procedure as many times as you want to convert other emails to PDF format.
