Windows 10 -  Device Manager update will make it easier to view and manage device drivers

The Device Manager in the new Windows 10 Insider Preview build in the Dev phase will support several views in addition to the regular view, allowing you to display device and driver information in a variety of ways.

Users can display System Manager details in a variety of ways and uninstall a particular driver by pulling up a list of devices that are using it, thanks to the various views.

When uninstalling a device, the Device Manager alerts users that the operating system can not be able to remove a driver if it is used by other devices.

To function around this, users can switch to the ‘Drivers by device' view, which displays the driver files alongside the devices that use them. This will make it easier to identify which devices are using a specific driver, allowing users the option to uninstall each one individually to delete the related driver entirely.

Reports also suggest that Microsoft has also introduced a 'Drivers by type' view, which groups drivers by the type of system they power, as well as a 'Drivers by device' view, which asks the Device Manager to show the driver beneath the device it's controlling.

This new feature will most likely be included in the Windows 10 Sun Valley update, which is expected to arrive in the fall of 2021.
